Google + Recalo + ChatGPT

How to save Google AI Overviews and use them in ChatGPT

Tap Show more on the AI Overview, tap Share and pick Recalo. Recalo saves the whole answer as a page, adds it to a page you already have, or turns it into a recipe, place or book. Connect Recalo to ChatGPT once and ChatGPT can read all of it. No computer needed.

What you need

  • Recalo on your iPhone. A free app that keeps the recipes, places, books and movies you save from other apps in one organized, searchable place. Download here.
  • A ChatGPT account. Any plan works, including Free. Or any other AI that supports plugins or MCP connectors, like Claude or Perplexity.
  • About two minutes. One to save your first answer, one to connect ChatGPT.

Save a Google AI Overview to Recalo

Recalo shows up in your iPhone's share menu like any other app. It works from the Google app and from Safari.

  1. Open the full answer.

Search on Google as usual. When the AI Overview shows up, tap Show more so the whole answer is on screen.

  2. Tap Share and choose Recalo.

That's the one tap. Recalo saves the full answer, not just the link, along with what you searched for.

  3. Recalo files it for you.

A new answer becomes its own page. A follow-up on something you already saved goes into that page. A recipe becomes a recipe, a restaurant becomes a place, a book becomes a book.

The same tap works for Google AI Mode answers and for shared ChatGPT and Claude conversations, so every AI answer you want to keep ends up in one place.

Connect Recalo to ChatGPT (one time)

You only do this once. After that, ChatGPT can read every answer you save. Works from your phone or your computer, and there is no URL to paste.

  1. Open Recalo in ChatGPT.

Open Recalo in ChatGPT's plugin directory and tap Install plugin. On your iPhone it opens right in the ChatGPT app.

  2. Sign in to Recalo.

Use the same account as the app and approve access. That's it, ChatGPT can now read everything you've saved.

More detail, and what else to ask, is on the Recalo in ChatGPT page.

Things to ask ChatGPT

Everything you saved is fair game, not just the last answer.

Mention Recalo, or type @Recalo, and ask in plain words:

ChatGPT confirms every save with a link, and it shows up in the Recalo app on your phone right away.

Keep adding to it

Your saves and your ChatGPT chats feed the same library.

  1. Search again, share again.

Saw a better answer a week later? Share it to Recalo and it lands with what you already have on that topic.

  2. Save from ChatGPT too.

Ask ChatGPT to "save this to Recalo" and the result sits right next to your Google answers.

  3. Find it from anywhere.

Search in the Recalo app, on the web, or just ask ChatGPT. Same library everywhere.

Good to know

No computer needed. Saving, connecting ChatGPT and asking it questions all work from your iPhone.

Free to try. A free Recalo account includes 50 saves through connected apps like ChatGPT. Saving from the share menu is separate, and reading what you have saved never counts. Recalo Pro ($3.49 a month or $34.99 a year) removes the cap.

ChatGPT only sees your own library. You sign in to Recalo when you connect, and you can disconnect from ChatGPT at any time.
